Christmas falls on Friday, December 25, 2026, but Miami’s holiday outings stretch beyond that one day. Separate the evening display you want to book from the daytime neighborhood or garden visit that will make the rest of your trip feel relaxed.
Zoo Lights has announced its 2026 dates
According to Zoo Miami’s official Zoo Lights page, the event runs November 27–28 and December 4–5, 11–12, 18–23 and 26–30, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The listed opening-night tree lighting is November 27 at 7 p.m. These are selected nights, not a nightly schedule.
Zoo Lights requires a separate ticket from daytime admission. Its emphasis is holiday lighting rather than an ordinary animal-viewing visit. Choose your precise evening and read the ticket conditions before traveling. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are not among the listed dates above.
Use the Miami Beautiful Zoo Miami guide to put the visit in context. Make the evening its own anchor outing rather than crowding it behind several stops elsewhere in Greater Miami.
Look beyond one light display
The official Greater Miami holiday guide is a starting point for discovering seasonal celebrations. Follow each organizer’s link. A destination guide may show a recurring tradition or previous imagery without establishing this year’s dates, ticket availability or exact program.
Pair an evening with a daytime garden visit
Research Pinecrest Gardens or Vizcaya Museum and Gardens as separate daytime outings. Check hours and admission for your date. These suggestions do not confirm a particular 2026 holiday evening program or Christmas Day opening at either venue.
Think about the shape of the day: a garden visit and a sit-down meal may be plenty before an evening event. If your group prefers downtown, consider a separate waterfront outing instead of fitting both areas into the same day. Geography matters more than the number of stops.
Before booking Christmas week
Check the exact date and entry time, full cost, cancellation or weather policy, and the accessibility arrangements your group needs. Save the confirmation and agree on arrival and return transport. For Christmas Day itself, verify restaurants and attractions individually rather than relying on normal weekly hours.
Browse Miami neighborhood guides when choosing where to spend the afternoon, and check current weather near your visit. A smaller plan with confirmed details is easier to adapt than a day built around unverified listings.
